Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office software has an option which automatically scales the letter format to A4 or vice versa.
In Word, you can find it under:
- Options -> Advanced -> Print -> “Scale content for A4 or 8.5x11 inch paper sizes”
Note: Deactivating this option allows you to create documents in letter format.
