How do I manage my PDFCreator licenses?

Need to extend your PDFCreator license, transfer it to a new machine, or resolve any issues with blocked or revoked machines? We have outlined the process to easily manage your licenses below.

Renewing your license: 

When should I renew my license? You can renew your license/s any time before or within 7 days after it has expired. 

How to renew a license: 

  • Click on “Extend license” 
  • Enter your license key and submit 
  • You'll be redirected to a form to update your license details. 

How do I know when my license has been renewed? You will know that your license has successfully been renewed when it shows the “active status.” No further steps are required. 

Revoking your license/s: 

What does it mean to revoke a machine? 
Revoking a machine removes the license from a device, freeing it up for use on another one. This happens automatically during uninstallation. 

Why would I need to revoke a machine?  
Revoking a machine allows you to move a license from one device to another. This is only necessary if you need to free up a license from a device where it’s not possible to uninstall PDFCreator anymore.

How to revoke a machine: 

  • Look up your license 
  • Select "Revoke All Machines" to reset the activation counter temporarily 

Tip: If you wish to either permanently remove a license from a machine or free up a license to be used elsewhere, please uninstall the software. This way the license will be available for activation on a new machine. 

Unblocking blocked machines 

What does it mean if a machine is blocked? If your machine has been blocked, it means that PDFCreator has restricted it. Don’t worry, this would only happen due to activation issues, such as incorrect license keys or exceeding the allowed number of activations.  

How to unblock a machine:  

  • To unblock a machine, simply reach out to our support team and they will assist you. 

Tip: If your machine is blocked, do not use the revoke feature. Instead, please contact our support team and they will be happy to assist in unblocking your machine.

  • Q: How do I transfer my license to a new machine? 
    A: To transfer your license, simply uninstall PDFCreator from the old machine and then install it on the new one. Enter your valid license key on the new device to activate it. This will free up the license from the old machine and allow it to be used on the new one. 
  • Q: What’s the difference between a blocked and a revoked machine? 
    A: A revoked machine means the license is removed from that device and can be reassigned to another. A blocked machine typically occurs due to activation issues (e.g., exceeding the activation limit) and requires support to resolve. If your machine is blocked, contact us for assistance in unblocking it. 
  • Q: Where can I see all my licenses? 
    A: To see all licenses (including valid and expired licenses), simply log into the Customer Portal and click on “My licenses.” 
  • Q: I can't uninstall PDFCreator because [your valid reason]. What should I do? 
    A: Please refer to the section above titled “How to revoke a machine” and follow the instructions provided.
